One Project at a Time

Welcome back. Today I have a card for the Paper Craft Crew Challenge #267. This one is a fun Tic-Tac-Toe challenge. There are eight different combinations to inspire your creation.

I chose the column to the right – Embossing – Winter – Serene Scene. For my card, I chose to use Penny Black’s Restful stamp. This stamp checks off the winter and serene scene boxes right away!

This stamp is fairly large, so my card is 5″ x 7″ to show it off in its glory. I started by stamping the image repeatedly with various Distress inks (listed below) onto hot pressed watercolor paper, switching colors and stamping repeatedly when necessary, thanks to my MISTI tool. When I was happy with the stamped tree and landscape, I inked the whole stamp with VersaMark and stamped that on top of the ink. Then I heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

Because of the embossing, I was able to blend assorted shades of Distress Oxide inks over the sky area with foam inkers without disturbing the inked scene. I used a white extra-fine Sharpie to add some snow to the tree branches.

When the inking was done, I splattered some water over the sky. Then I decided a snow scene needed some sparkle, right? So I took some frost shimmer spray and it added just the right amount of shine. Unfortunately it is difficult to photograph.
